Here at the Center for Worker Justice, we value and celebrate diversity in our community. As such, we are committed to combating hate and bigotry in order that everyone can live in the Iowa City area–and beyond–without fear of discrimination. To further this goal, we have partnered with the Communities Against Hate Coalition to assist in the national tracking of incidents of hate, which all too often go unreported. Through our participation with this coalition, we hope to bring visibility to this national problem and better support the survivors/victims of hate incidents by connecting them to resources.
“A hate incident is a bias motivated incident committed, in whole or in part, because of actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability and/or ethnicity. Hate incidents may or may not constitute a crime.”
If you have experienced hate or have seen it happen, please click on the link below to tell your story. All information is confidential and will not be shared outside of the coalition.
